I have been hunting and collecting fossils since preschool. I think I was first attracted to their shapes. Now it is the representations of evolutionary adaptation- still their shapes. I am willing to share some of my prime hunting spots-primarily Arkansas, but I didn't see much in the line of that kind of posting in the topics. I have found some beautiful marine fossils 'round here. Tell some stories. Post more pictures. I am juiced to find you all. Keep us all posted.

Re: Fossils Rock!
Mon, December 13, 2004 - 8:36 AMJust yesterday I took my wife and step-son out to what I refer to as "the shark site" to look for Mississippian Sharks teeth. Of course those are the prize and they are pretty fragile so we found a few fragments of teeth. However there were alot of Horn Corals and echinoderms of varing types, primarily fragments of crinoids and blastoids but there is a type resembling an urchin but the one I found this time looked like it had a stem scar. Perhaps some kind of cystoid? I've got to get some pictures up here! Any way back to the future.
